A must have accessory for looking at the ends of connectors. Using a good connector cleaner will remove most surface contamination from connectors but there might be scratches or chips in the glass. Inspection means that you are sure all is well and the system or measurements will be reliable.

There are two types of illumination, coaxial or oblique. Coaxial (CL) is usually used and picks up contamination well but the oblique (OL) can pick up other features. We supply CL versions and a unit incorporation both methods. A x200 magnification is usual but a x400 can be used on singlemode fibre.

All our microscopes incorporate an infrared safety filter but this should never be relied upon to provide eye protection. Never look at a connector carrying live traffic or light.
