Phoenix Photonics in-line optical fiber power monitor replaces the tap coupler – photodiode with a single small footprint package. The device is based on interaction with the evanescent field of the propagating signal and consequently is non-invasive to the optical path. This technology offers low insertion loss with high responsivity. Several standard models are available to accommodate power range requirements in different applications.

Notes to Specifications

1.	Responsivity is specified at the lowest wavelength in the specified operational bandwidth and increases with increase in wavelength.
2.	The effective tap ratio enables a direct comparison with the tap coupler/photodetector alternative.
3.	The maximum operational power is defined by the saturation power reaching the photodiode, alternative tap ratios can be provided to accommodate higher or lower power systems.
4.	Insertion loss is worst case over the full specification range and includes PDL.

5.	The power monitors are available over the full operational range, however the quoted specifications are applicable to the following bands: 13 – 1280nm to 1330nm 14 – 1480 nm to 1530nm 15 – 1530nm to 1610nm For requirements outside these bands please contact our sales team.
6.	Responsivity increases with wavelength and is specified as a percentage change in the mid-band value per nm wavelength increment.
